Here is our first blog post on something sweet.
This past Sunday, I cooked at home. Made Shrimp & Quinoa Casserole, which Khiz, Nick & I destroyed :) - I was so glad it got destroyed since that meant it was edible ;)
As the casserole was warm + there was a bit of a heat to it from Garam Masala, we thought of Ice Cream. (not sure about Nick, but definitely Khiz & I did :P) I looked up Ice Cream on Yelp and I noticed a place I have not seen before: Gelazzi. It has 4.5 stars with about 70 reviews. We are always up to trying new things so we decided to head up to the Height for gelato.
Now... let me remind you, this Sunday night the temperature was dropping from 70's to 40's. It was windy and getting cold. That was not going to stop ME for sure. Once I put my mind to Ice Cream, I must get it.
Now look at this gorgeousness!

There were 20 flavors, wide variety of choices including: glazed donut / sea salt caramel / pistachio / tiramisu / mint chip / almond / birthday cake / chocolate hazelnut, etc.
I tried about 10 flavors because that's just how it works. (more like I can't decide what I want) I ended up getting Sea Salt Caramel + Pistachio on waffle cone (price tag of ~$5.50). Both were WONDERFUL. the texture was great & not overly sweet. I could eat their Sea Salt Caramel all.day.
Khiz got Almond + Mint Chip: He says Mint chip was getting TOO minty about halfway thru, but it came with big chunks of chocolate chips.
Nick got Pistachio + Glazed Donut: damn that Glazed Donut tastes JUST LIKE GLAZED DONUT. I have never seen or tried gelato flavored donut, that was pretty neat. Nick said this is his favorite Ice Cream place in Houston! (we have taken him to Amy's, Fat Cat Creamery, Cloud 10, and of course Yogurtland)
I am so glad I got a blog post in this week!
Click here for Gelazzi's Yelp page.
Click here for Gelazzi's official website (on the day of this post 24-feb-2015, their official website is under construction, 4 more days until new website comes alive)
Closing this post with pictures of the boys-
