This is my "box of chocolate" blog section. I am going to share random things here that I come across in my life! It may be my favorite phone app, DIY, or favorite things to buy at grocery stores :P
I think Trader Joe's is SO AWESOME. Every time I go there I realize this. Items are not just cheap, but they are AMAZING!
I get so excited about almost everything I see there.
Here I am going to share what I buy at Trader Joe's - cause I think it is so amazing and want to share it!
The 6 things you should check out from Trader Joe's are the following:
- Dr. Loosen Riesling
- 85% Dark Chocolate bar
- Coconut Oil
- Coconut Oil Spray
- Raspberry Vinaigrette
- Coffee
1. Dr. Loosen Riesling This is my FAVORITE wine in the whole world! I took Introduction to Wines class while I was at Cornell (the most failed class at Cornell as well) and that's where I tasted this for the first time & fell IN.LOVE with it. This is not too sweet of a Riesling, but perfectly balanced! Great for any day. It is from Mosel, Germany, HOME of Riesling! I say everyone should try this wine at least once. In Houston, I only have found this at Trader Joe's and at one of the Whole Foods (I honestly don't know why more places are not carrying this wine!) & the reason why you should get it from Trader Joe's is that it is CHEAP: $9.99 (this is at least $2-3 cheaper than anywhere else I have seen it) |
2. 85% Cacao, the dark chocolate lover's chocolate bar. This is the 2nd reason why I go to Trader Joe's and I have this chocolate at home at ALL TIMES. I have 1 or 2 rectangles everyday after dinner :) Trader Joe's got pretty big collection of chocolate bars that they sell, but this is by far my favorite cause it is simple and got high cacao content. This one "box" contains 2 separately packaged chocolate bars and it is only $1.69. I mean... at this point, this is even cheaper than Hershey's bar! (which I don't even consider it to be "chocolate") You can find this next to the registers! |
3. Coconut Oil Coconut oil is amazing. I mean, not just TJ's coconut oil, but coconut oil in general. I use coconut oil instead of olive oil and butter in cooking & baking. (doesn't make the food taste like coconut) I always make sure I get Organic - Virgin - Unrefined - Cold Pressed & TJ's coconut oil is exactly this. You can get one at Kroger/Simple Truth or Whole Foods of course, but not at the price of $5.99 |
4. Coconut oil SPRAY I saw this for the first time at TJ's today and my mind was kind of blown. I don't use spray oil on a daily basis, but I use it when I am baking or using George Foreman grill. Even though it is a tiny little bit you use, why not use a healthy type of oil? Once I am done using the Pam spray at home, I am moving over to this! As with everything at TJ's, can't beat the price. |
5. Raspberry Vinaigrette One day I was shopping at TJ's and found this gem. I almost gave up on buying salad dressing since all of them I looked at Kroger had too much sugar in them. I don't like my salad drenched in dressing so I always look for something light and doesn't have too much sugar in it. Sugar is added to almost EVERYTHING these days and I hate it. This vinaigrette is by far my favorite at home dressing. If you don't like balsamic vinaigrette that much, but want something a bit fruity but light, TRY THIS. and come on, only $2.49 My favorite way to use this: arugula + goat cheese + toasted pecans + raspberry vinaigrette. YUM |
6. COFFEE As you can see in the picture here, Trader Joe's got a big collection of their own coffee + their containers are so cute. They got coffee from all over the world: Columbia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Bolivia and numerous different types of blend. I don't drink coffee, but Khizer drinks coffee every morning. So I got him 14 oz container of Colombia Supremo and he is loving it. It is medium roast as he prefers it and this 14 oz container lasts him ~2 weeks for $6.99 |
I don't go to Trader Joe's to buy all my groceries, so I am sure I am missing out on some amazing items are Trader Joe's, but hope I have shared some great items sold at TJ's!
I have never been disappointed at their products and would love to hear if any of you have suggestions on MUST-BUY items from Trader Joe's in the comments!
